# Privacy Policy for Kona

**Last updated:** March 21, 2026

## Overview

Kona is a macOS menu bar application that prevents system sleep using configurable profiles. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is handled.

## Data Collection

**Kona does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.**

The app operates entirely offline on your device. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party services.

## Data Storage

All data created within Kona — including your "Wake States" (profiles), schedules, and app preferences — is stored locally on your Mac using standard system storage (`UserDefaults`). This data never leaves your device through the app.

Specifically, the app stores:

- **Wake State profiles:** Custom names, durations, and flags for screen dimming and system lock.
- **Schedules:** Recurring day and time window configurations for automatic activation.
- **App preferences:** Your chosen settings for menu bar visibility, open-at-login status, and default launch behaviors.

## Third-Party Services

Kona does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools.

## Internet Access

Kona does not require or use an internet connection. The app functions entirely offline.

## Children's Privacy

Kona does not collect any data from any user, including children. The app is safe for users of all ages.

## Backups

If you have Time Machine or other backup services enabled on your Mac, your Kona preferences may be included in your device backup as part of the standard macOS backup process. This is managed by the operating system and your device settings, not by the app.

## Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Because the app collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.

## Contact

If you have questions about this privacy policy, you may contact the developer through the App Store listing.
